COMMISSIONING
My primary field is portraits (human and animal), but I am happy to discuss any type of commission – landscape, still life, illustration, devotional or art simply as décor. My preferred medium is oils, but I am experienced in watercolour, acrylic, pastel, pencil and wash, charcoal, or ink.
Portraits
The best results are produced from two or more sittings, plus reference photos. However, I realise that distance and time may mean this is not practicable. I have produced portraits from both Zoom sessions and/or a portfolio of photographs (more than one photo is necessary to get an all-round feeling for the construction and expression of the face and – where appropriate – body).
A portrait could mark a special occasion, a significant birthday, a commemoration of a loved one, or a ‘snapshot’ in paint of a child at a certain age, or quite simply as a record of a person or a loved pet. I am DBS checked, but an adult should always be present to accompany young children.
Places
Again, these are best done with some knowledge of the location, but working from photographs produces good results.
Devotional
Please contact me via the contact form to discuss your ideas.
Prices
There is no set table of fees, and prices will be agreed by discussion, depending on size, medium, subject, time frame, and whether travel is involved. Generally the starting point is around £300. Postage/courier or delivery is extra by agreement. I offer the finished work either unframed or framed, and am happy to discuss types of framing to complement the artwork.
